On December 20 and 21 the Queen Elizabeth District High School Warriors played against the Dryden High School Eagles on the hockey rink. The girls teams played on Wednesday night with the Eagles winning 5-0.

On the evening of December 22 the annual ice candle ceremony took place in town. St. Andrew s United Church, St. Mary s Anglican Church, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church all had ice candles lit outside their doors for people to honour loved ones.
